Do you love the outdoors and have a passion for igniting curiosity in young minds?

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic educator to join our team for a 5-week outdoor education enrichment camp! This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a group of campers on an unforgettable adventure, fostering a love for nature, exploration, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate outdoor education lessons aligned with camp themes - fishing, environmental education, archaeology, geology
  • Lead hands-on activities such as hikes, fishing excursions, nature walks, plant and animal identification, and basic outdoor skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers, providing clear instructions and supervision during all activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment, building rapport with campers and promoting teamwork and cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children (age range to be specified) in an educational or camp setting.
  • Strong knowledge of outdoor education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Passion for the outdoors and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of camp life.
  • Must be available to work the following weeks from about 9am-4pm: 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, and 8/12.

Experience and Skills

  • 21 years of age or older

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to lead a class of up to 13 kids solo and 25 kids with an assistant in an outdoor educational setting.

  • Rate: $19/hr - $23/hr depending on experience, location, and availability
